A.G.M.

In recent years, the firm has held an annual “AGM” for staff and “Friends of Talbots” (those people who have retired having made a long and/or notable contribution to the life of the firm). This year’s AGM was held at Stone Manor, near Kidderminster, on 31st January.

The format took the shape of a review by Partner, Derek Simmonds, of the previous year which charted the firm’s successes and events followed by Senior Partner, Martyn Morgan’s motivational meanderings and outline of the plans and objectives for the coming year.

A new feature for 2007 was the introduction of long service awards for members of staff who have been with Talbots for at least 10 years. Recipients were Secretary, Ruth Rudd (who, at 75, is also our oldest member of staff); Secretary, Joan Hughes; Legal Executive, Josie Hardwick (our longest serving member of staff with almost 46 years under her belt); Conveyancing Executive, Claire Cole; Criminal Clerk, Sue Parkes: Receptionist, Caroline Mallard; Conveyancing Executive, Natalie Badland; Secretary, Lisa Gubbins and Receptionist, Jenny Whittal.

Following the formalities, members of staff were able to tuck into a fine hot buffet before departing with a fine new red and white Talbots brolly!
